Biocontainment legislation
We can support your project by choosing the correct biosafety containment level based on biohazard groups and fully considering current and future client requirements. We can fully align the project with ACDP (Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens) and SAPO (Specified Animal Pathogen Order) regulations, SACGM (CU) for contained GMO and HSE legislation.
Biocontainment parameters
Each laboratory containment level should operate a combination of physical parameters and work practices based on clients’ HAZOPs / Working practice confirmation and regulative body Hazard Group guidelines. Consideration should also be given to incorporating ever-changing technology to minimise risk, including using AI (Artificial Intelligence) and remote operator working.
Biocontainment Design & Management
As well as providing the appropriate design and structure or environment for the required containment levels, Angstrom can also offer the necessary supporting infrastructure, Building Services, Autoclaves, biocontainment showers, effluent treatment facilities (ETP), dunk tanks and emergency breakout escape panels etc.
Angstrom implement the appropriate facility security rating when nuclear and biohazard components could be weaponised. We consult with the UK counter-terrorism command to set security levels, which must be built into the project from conception to avoid disruptive and costly retrospective implementation.
Modular biocontainment suites
Have you considered a stand-alone modular build option for high containment? Modular independent buildings can be an appropriate precautionary location choice. Separated activities minimise the risk to any immediate surrounding areas, especially during fumigation.
