Cleanroom Design & Build Projects – May 2021
May is heating up for Connect 2 Cleanrooms, with several new projects beginning. The trend for out-of-the-ordinary projects is continuing in the South West of the UK. Recently, we converted a stable into an equine IVF clinic. Last week, we were appointed to deliver a GMP cleanroom for medicinal marijuana cultivation. We don’t know what will be next, but we do know that we have the capability to execute projects in niche markets.
Precision machining is used to close tolerances for technical plastics and contamination can affect the accuracy of the manufacturing process. Following on from a modular cleanroom installation over an injection moulding machine in 2018, our client has now appointed us to enclose a micro injection moulding machine inside a hardwall cleanroom to create ISO 14644-1:2015 class 5 conditions. This second controlled environment will allow our client to achieve greater degrees of accuracy, to reliably repeat the production of micro parts.
We love supporting innovation, which gives us an affinity with the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC). The University of Manchester spin-off specialises in the rapid development and scale-up of graphene and other 2D materials applications. The GEIC’s success in attracting SME’s—such as Innov-8 who are performing R&D on their graphene trainer sole—has now led to the need to double the footprint of the modular cleanroom that we installed in 2019.
We are currently on-site delivering a cleanroom project for solid-state battery technology production. We’ve had excellent feedback from the client on our project management. We like to collaborate with our clients to make sure that we develop the right specification to meet their needs. This passion for two-way communication develops a strong working relationship that supports project execution.
