Cleanroom Design and Build Projects - May 2022

As we head towards the UK Jubilee weekend, we look back on the month of May. And what a month it has been! We attended two flagship industry events, Battery Tech Expo and the Cleanroom Technology Conference. Battery Tech was held at Silverstone Circuit. Here, we met with many companies to discuss the design and build of giga-factories, pilot plants, and small-scale battery or chemistry research facilities.

At the show, our colleagues gave a seminar to a packed lecture hall. Titled, “Scaling the battery revolution”, the talk walked the audience through the important components of a dry room—such as envelope, HVAC, and airflow modelling. Then—importantly—how this can be scaled, as technologies progress through the R&D and manufacturing stages.

Cleanroom Technology Conference is the seminal event on the cleanroom industry calendar. It is designed to help the community to keep up to date with cleanroom standards and ensure compliance. Our team was on hand to network with industry professionals and discuss how our integrated cleanroom services can help drive efficiencies within a contamination control strategy.

In Scotland, we are proud to be working with a client who is tackling the world’s food challenges head-on with cellular agriculture, which is the production of animal-sourced foods from cell culture. The build of the 300m² cleanroom is progressing well, and when finished it will house state-of-art cell culture and bioreactor facilities. We can’t wait to share more about this pioneering new facility when it’s complete.

Elsewhere in Scotland, we are getting close to sharing more details with you about how we supported a Glaswegian space-engineering practice with a cleanroom for the development of a satellite component that will help combat threats to cybersecurity networks. If you’re in the space sector, don’t miss Space-Comm Expo in September.

Keep your eyes peeled for more details on a custom-built ISO 6 high-purity pipe fabrication cleanroom with ISO 4 pods. This cleanroom was recently installed in Derry and it’s the second of its kind that we’ve designed and built.

We’ve also visited our friends at a national physics laboratory to photograph some of the bespoke cleanrooms we’ve built for them over the years.

Unique applications require custom builds and our design team love engineering solutions to the challenges faced by unique process requirements. Take a look at our case studies to see some of the engineering feats we’ve achieved over the years. Or if you’re in the science and technology field, why not come to see us at one of two Science & Technology Solutions Exhibitions we’re exhibiting at in July?

It’s been another exciting month at Connect 2 Cleanrooms. Do you have a project you’d like to speak to us about? Get in touch.
