Cleanroom Design and Build Projects – September 2021

UK investment in satellite technology from organisations such as the Satellite Applications Catapult has been accelerating growth in the space sector. In September, we have helped to support this with a number of cleanrooms for both academia and industry.

We’ve installed a state-of-the-art cleanroom within a new space-science facility at a UK university. The facility will be used by a collaborative community of industry, academics and students working together to drive growth in the space sector. With a height of up to 6 metres, an innovative approach to HVAC was required to achieve ISO 14644-1:2015 Class 6 in the main area.

We’ve also delivered a second cleanroom for a space technology PLC. The first cleanroom we delivered was a hardwall cleanroom, back in 2017. They came back to us needing a similar spec of room, but larger due to a growth in demand. We love being part of our clients’ success stories!

We’ve also been supporting a well-known plastics manufacturer to boost capacity due a growth in demand. This client now has five softwall cleanrooms from us—three have been delivered in the last 8 months!

From space and plastics, to ancient DNA—we’ve designed and built a hardwall and softwall hybrid cleanroom for a university that is teaching students how to harvest ancient DNA. This applied learning will give students valuable skills to transfer out into their workplaces after they graduate.
