We were delighted to recently welcome the University of Sheffield’s Gene Therapy Innovation and Manufacturing Centre team to our UK head office and showroom, for a GMP Operator Cleanroom Training Day, with our training team.
The day’s training was won as part of a competition hosted during the Cleanroom Technology Conference in May 2023, where our GMP team also presented as speakers at the event.

We were delighted to recently welcome the University of Sheffield’s Gene Therapy Innovation and Manufacturing Centre team to our Lancaster office and showroom, for a GMP Operator Cleanroom Training Day, with our training team.

What is GMP Operator Cleanroom Training?
We offer tailored training sessions, covering a wide range of topics. Our GMP Cleanroom Training offers a full day of up to 8 members of your cleanroom team.
Personnel working within a GMP facility require regular training on cleanroom practices, hygiene, and contamination control, and our course has been developed by experts to help you with GMP compliance.
The goals of our training days include:
- Educate delegates on the connection between behaviours, protocols, and contamination control.
- Help you control the introduction, generation, and retention of particles within a cleanroom.
- Reduce the risk to manufacturing processes and products.
- Satisfy inspectors and auditors that you are meeting training requirements for EU GMP
A certificate of attendance is provided for all delegate’s training records.
University of Sheffield’s Training Day
The University of Sheffield GTIMC staff joined us at our Lancaster office and showroom, here in Halton, where they received GMP Operator Cleanroom training. This was delivered for the University’s new team who were to be based in their cleanrooms on-site.
Training days are always structured with a clear programme, to encourage attendees to learn as much as possible through both theory and practical exercises. The day started with looking at the theory behind best practice training and what’s involved, along with the regulatory requirements and compliance information.
Once the theory of these requirements had been covered extensively with the team, we then put modules into practice through practical exercises designed to enforce the training. These exercises included hand hygiene, gowning, material transfer and surface cleaning.
Laura Clarke, who delivered the day’s training alongside Simon Rice said, “It’s always great to have the opportunity to work with businesses to ensure their training is up to date and they are always operating efficiently within their cleanrooms. The University of Sheffield team were great to work with and completed the training day effectively. We hope they learned a lot and will take this back to their cleanroom applications & environment!”
